Geometries of light: Villa Z between essence and modernity

Villa Z stands out in the urban fabric where it is located, characterized mainly by mono and multi-family buildings from the 80s and 90s: the essential and minimalist design characterized by the interpenetration of geometric solids introduces a new architectural language to the context.

Emerging Architecture from the Urban Fabric of the Mantuan Province

A new residential unit, Villa Z, one of the architecture projects by Architect Stefano Iattoni, emerges in an urban context characterized by buildings from the '80s and '90s. The project, precisely for this reason, stands out and takes a prominent position thanks to its architectural language, defined by geometric solids that intersect, giving the work a unique and innovative character.

Overlapping Volumes and Minimalist Design

Modern, essential, and minimalist design is defined by the overlap of two parallelepiped volumes, which characterize the two levels that make up the villa. The minimalism is accentuated by the flat roofs without overhangs: the alternation of solids and voids and a play of overlapping volumes create a shaded porch around the pool located outside, at the back of the villa. The large windows significantly enhance the interior brightness of the house: characterized by different sizes and positions, they recall the parallelepiped volumes in the design.

Interiors with fluid spaces and visual comfort

Visual and experiential well-being has been the focus of the interior design project: the distribution of spaces, both in plan and in height, has been studied to ensure perspectives of great impact, while preserving the privacy of the environments. The fluid interaction between the dining room, the covered outdoor living area, and the pool ensures a perceptual continuity that enhances the harmony between indoor and outdoor spaces, creating a cohesive and functional whole.

Custom Lighting: the Light Project

The study of light has involved not only the careful choice of external fixtures and shading systems, but also the creation of optimal artificial lighting for each environment. To achieve this, a LED system has been adopted, integrated into recessed ceiling or wall strips, inserted in perimeter grooves or lowered coffered ceilings, complemented by spotlights and step markers. This approach allows for different lighting effects and the modulation of intensity based on the specific functions of the spaces.

Energy efficiency and sustainability

Energy saving has been a fundamental principle of the project: the building has been equipped with an external thermal insulation system, correcting all thermal bridges generated by the architectural forms. In addition, a low-temperature radiant heating system has been installed, powered by a heat pump, in combination with a photovoltaic system and a ventilation system for air treatment, ensuring high performance with almost zero energy consumption.
