The values achieved are almost equivalent to those of a passive buildin, and this was made possible also thanks to the compactness of the building
The school is completely insulated in the walls and ceilings, thermal bridges are minimized and external doors and windows are completely replaced
The old boiler has been replaced by a more recent, highly efficient one and a new controlled mechanical ventilation system to maintain clean indoor air
Both the external and internal surfaces have been repainted, the entrance flooring has been renovated and an external walkway has been created from scratch
For the external finishes, the collaboration between the pupils and the teachers was of great importance, who personally decorated their school during special workshops with bright colours and geometric motifs or with animal morphology
As a matter of fact, specific colours and shapes enhance the psychophysical well-being according to the studies made at the beginning of the last century, increasing the capacity of imagination and the quality of the environment
