The design proposal consists of a series of polygonal courtyards, whose variations in size and position generate different spatial sequences. The pentagonal spaces that unfold between the trees are enveloped by a continuous façade all around, which interacts with the surrounding topography and the vertical rhythm of the trees. The density of the columns as well as the various degrees of transparency or opacity of the external façade adapt to areas that require more or less natural light

The origin of the project for the Arvo Pärt Centre is the diocotomy between music and architecture, the search for a balance between the intimacy of the Estonian artist's compositions and the serene beauty of the landscape, characterised by tall pine trees

The building seems to have neither a beginning nor an end, neither a main nor a secondary façade, but a great continuity is evident. A series of thin circular columns frame the relationship between interior and exterior, echoing the rhythm of some of the musician's compositions. A large zinc platform acts as a roof, and folds over the surface of the ground, enveloping and protecting the interior spaces
