A house dating back to the 60s is expanded in order to create a kitchen that uses natural light. The clients had requested that the addition be contemporary in character, but at the same time not too far removed from the original structure

Thanks to the expansion, it was possible to divide the kitchen and remaining living space more clearly, such as the living area, which used to be a whole, as well as improving the visual connection between inside and outside. The zinc saw-tooth roof of the expansion is reminiscent of the original zigzag terrace roof

The diagonal larch slats clearly characterize the expansion, giving it a playful tone. The Siberian larch also characterises the visible roof inside, the rest of the interior is made of birch plywood, which creates a warm and cosy atmosphere
