The expansion project is located on the site of an old brick factory and the owner's house. The original house, which was renovated in the 1990s was a typical traditional house with a portico. The porch is an architectural element typical of houses in the area which acts as a passageway and interaction between the exteriors and also regulates the effects of the sun in the summer and winter

Expansion of a villa. A contrasting combination of brick and white plastered walls

The expansion was conceived as an extension of the silhouette of the existing house. While remaining loyal to its old appearance on the outside, it changes all the guidelines on the inside in terms of the layout of the spaces and creates a high open space. The view is then left open to the brick roof, which is characterised by a beautiful decorative mosaic created from the different shades of the handmade bricks

The walls which are left in brick on the outside are instead plastered inside with a classic lime plaster without an upper coating. One of the concepts we can see in different parts of the building is the choice of using many natural materials without any superficial treatment

The building's thermal efficiency is provided by the massive roof structure, which substantially improves the building's storage capacity by radically reducing thermal fluctuation inside. The glazed porch also acts as a climatic buffer for most of the year
