U INVERSE | Interweaving of matter between lights and shadows brings art into everyday life

As part of ART CITY Bologna 2025 and in conjunction with ARTE FIERA, the beauty salon Orea Malià transforms into an unexpected art gallery, hosting the exhibition "U INVERSE". Curated by Marco Zanardi and realized in collaboration with arkitectureonweb, the show features the works of Chizu Kobayashi and Julia Von Stietencron, two artists who explore the thin line between the visible and the invisible through their distinct mediums: iron wire and textiles. The exhibition will be inaugurated with a vernissage on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM, during the ART CITY White Night, and will remain available throughout the year inside the salon.

The two protagonists, Chizu Kobayashi and Julia von Stietencron and their personal style

Chizu Kobayashi: Design that tells stories of harmony and timeless beauty

Chizu Kobayashi is a renowned Japanese designer and artist known for her minimalistic and poetic approach to contemporary design and art. Through a skillful use of light, textures, and empty spaces, Chizu creates works that invite a contemplative experience, inspired by the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi.

Julia von Stietencron: Design that connects people, spaces, and nature

Julia von Stietencron is a multidisciplinary designer and artist who combines contemporary aesthetics and sustainability, creating works and projects that explore the boundary between design, nature, and craftsmanship. Each of her projects is a narrative that intertwines tactile elements, light, and color, expressing a sensitivity that engages with the context and the people who inhabit it.

The connection between art, nature, and humanity

The exhibition stems from the deep friendship and mutual respect between the two artists and the curator, aiming to break the boundaries of traditional exhibition spaces and introduce art into everyday contexts, making the aesthetic experience accessible and engaging for a wider audience. Kobayashi and Von Stietencron intertwine their parallel universes to shape a visual dialogue that celebrates the connection between nature and humanity.

Exploration of the cosmos and creation

Inspiration arises from the idea that in the infinite interweaving of the cosmos, each element reflects a fragment of something greater; the universe breathes within us, intertwining our mind, our body, and the infinite space into a single essence. The worlds suspended in the ethereal theater of creation reflect the intimate connection between all things. The roots of trees creep into the ground like thoughts in the mind, extending and branching out, seeking nourishment in hidden depths.

Final Reflections on the Exhibition

The artworks on display tell the connection between nature and humanity, transforming matter and symbols into a visual dialogue that celebrates life. Through their art, the artists invite the audience to discover how every detail can become a revelation or remain a sweet mystery. Their works, tangible expressions of the universe through human creativity, transform the Orea Malià gallery into a place where the everyday meets the sublime, demonstrating that art can flourish anywhere and transform every space into a unique experience to live and share.
