In the restyling of the Bistrot of the House of the Artists curated by architect Filippo Taidelli, the virtual matrix common to the whole "House" given by a modular structure that combines formal uniformity and functional flexibility, here in the bar generates two volumes: a low and wide one and a slender one that fit into the space on tiptoe to generate a formal matrix with a chameleon-like skin, warm and animated
Bistrot of the Artists' House set between industrial workshop vibes under a domestic touch and urban nursery
In Milan, the Bistrot of the Casa degli Artisti is the beating heart of the residence: meeting place, filter of access to the magnificent garden, element of reference for the public and domestic hearth of its inhabitants
A dynamic patchwork of textures and colors will come to life on the different levels of the two volumes, in an alternation of people, bottles, crates, glasses, wire mesh and wooden tops. At night the new volumes are transformed into backlit colored lanterns that dialogue with the existing space delicately underscored by a perimeter light line
The black iron warehouse structures are softened by the contrast with the wooden table tops and the existing concrete floor: the result is a revisited industrial workshop atmosphere that retains the charm of large manufacturing spaces but conveys domestic warmth. Outside, the formal references of the bar shift toward the atmosphere of the urban nursery, introducing the en plein air life of the outdoor area which is surrounded by public and private greenery
