The countryside shelter designed on the outskirts of the municipality of Fontanars, in the province of Valencia, seeks to fully integrate with the environment and the surrounding landscape
Cottage on the border between pine forests and vines. Environmental and landscape integration
The cottage, designed by Ramón Esteve Estudio, is located in a natural setting, on the outskirts of a village in the municipality of Fontanars, combining the idea of a traditional rural house with a pitched roof with the concept of contemporary space

A path leads to the house that appears to be concealed in the background by groups of pines, poplars and cypresses
A concrete shell, which is reminiscent of the shapes of a traditional rural house with a pitched roof distinguishes the project
Transversally, the rooms are completely designed and characterized by pine wood
The project is therefore characterized by two monolithic structures: the first made of white cement, the second made of pine wood, with thermally modified surfaces
You can enter the house through a wooden structure: the central space looks like a common area, dominated by a large fireplace where all the rooms open up
The views from the inside are framed by pine wood surfaces
A large porch is located at the end of the house. The living room overlooks a double landscape: providing a view of the pine forest on one side and that of the vineyard on the other
From an environmental point of view, the house conforms to the line of a passive house, whose energy conservation is optimized by the use of renewable energy and by the materials used that guarantee good insulation
